The Burning Question:
What bothers you most about others drivers?
Morning Devotional:
Roundabouts. When they first started showing up, you have to admit they looked a bit complicated.
But now that I’ve had some time to get used to them, I don’t think they are all that bad to maneuver. The problem is, I don’t apparently share that sentiment with the rest of the drivers in town.
Case in point. A quick shopping trip yesterday evening brought me to one of the busiest intersections in town, which is also one of the most used roundabouts in town. I was behind someone who was clearly not well versed on the use of a roundabout and was having quite the time mustering up the courage to make the move. She was waiting for someone to yield to her to get in the roundabout, and then yielding when she shouldn’t have in order to let others into the roundabout before she got out. Clearly their concept of yielding was a little bit off.
Have you ever had a problem yielding to the Lord? Me too.
Consider this passage from Proverbs 3: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight.”
We are to yield to the Lord in each and every decision we make and direction we choose to take. By submitting to His control, His knowledge and His goodness, our path becomes a lot less complicated by twists and turns. We reach our destination in good time, in His time. Doesn’t that sound a lot less complicated?
