The Burning Question:
When did you unintentionally scare someone?
Morning Devotional:
I don’t have the best of eyesight and I haven’t for some time now. I’ve worn contacts for years and my glasses are bifocals. I haven’t graduated to trifocals yet and I really don’t want to!
I was working at my desk late last night and I needed to read some fine print on a document. The contacts I was wearing didn’t do the job and my glasses weren’t exactly convenient, so out came my phone and my handy magnifying glass app. Did you know there’s an app for that? With the app, reading the microscopic print became a breeze but as I read, a certain truth became very clear. I’m getting old.
There are many things I want to see more clearly and yes, having better eyesight would help. There are also things I want to magnify for all to see. Things like God’s goodness, His grace, His never-ending love for you and me, and especially the gift of forgiveness of sin and eternal life through His son. I can do that and so can you, through our worship.
In Psalm 69:30 the psalmist writes, “I will praise God’s name in song and magnify him with thanksgiving.” I want His goodness and grace to be clearly seen because He is worthy of praise!
