The Burning Question:
When did you know that he, or she, was “The One?”
Morning Devotional:
Finding summer jobs for my kids has proven to be more challenging than we first thought. Despite the abundance of job postings, my 18-year-old daughter Glory and 16-year-old son Malachi are struggling to secure positions. My oldest, Kalvary, managed to land a job, but she has the advantage of being older and having more work experience.
Malachi even had an interview but never heard back from the company. It’s disheartening for him, and as his parent, I feel for him deeply. I know he’s a good guy and would be a dedicated worker, but of course, I’m biased. The best advice I can offer them is to keep trying, keep applying, and trust that God will lead them to the right opportunity.
In times like these, it’s important to remember that God’s timing is perfect, even when it feels frustratingly slow to us. He knows the desires of our hearts and the needs we have. Just as He cares for the birds of the air, He cares even more for us. This season of waiting can build character and resilience in Glory and Malachi, preparing them for the roles that God has in store for them.
Scripture: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
