The Burning Question:
If Jesus came to your town today, what miracle would you ask of him?
Morning Devotional:
I was driving home last night when a deer ran out in front of my car.
I have been prepared to see deer in the early morning hours as of late but not so much in the evening. This one caught me by surprise – and I clearly caught it by surprise as well. It froze in front of my car with the classic “deer in the headlights” look, paralyzed with indecision. Then came the dance of fear. Do I run to the right, or leap to the left? Go forward or turn around? It ended up just standing there for what seemed to be the longest time before it darted back where it came from, overwhelmed by what seemed to be too many decisions.
There are times when I come to a point in the road where I am met with what feels like an oncoming car and I am smacked with something overwhelming. I wonder which way I am supposed to turn and which direction I am supposed to go. The fear of choosing incorrectly can be paralyzing. That’s the moment when we need to pray, and trust that the Lord will show us the way to go.
Last night, I read a scripture that ministered to me quite beautifully. Psalm 73:23-24 says, “Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.” I am thankful for a patient and understanding God who never leaves me on my own to decide my own way. He is faithful to point me in the right direction.
