What Day Is It?

The Burning Question:

What’s your favorite memory involving fall or harvest?

Morning Devotional:

It’s been a week and it seems like just yesterday.

Seven days have passed by since Election Day and you would think we would be done by now. Votes are still being counted, there are races still undecided and the rhetoric is still flying. It makes you wonder, when exactly is this election going to be over?

Despite everything that has happened in this political cycle, and whether or not your particular candidate won or not, there’s an important thing we need to remember. God is still on the throne. He didn’t fall off that throne last Tuesday, either. He was, and is, and will always be God of all.

Now that the election is over, I feel we need to renew our efforts on an assignment given to us in the Word. It’s a commitment we as believers must have, and it’s one that does not expire with a change in leadership or political party. It’s also one that promises great things to us as individuals, as a nation, as His people. Consider this passage from the scriptures if you will, from 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Now more than ever, the time has come for our nation to be one of prayer and repentance. Let’s be praying for healing, for forgiveness, and for guidance as we move forward as one nation under God.
