Burning Question:
What is your New Year’s resolution?
Morning Devotional:
There have been times when I have thought it would be nice to have a roommate.
I have times when I would enjoy having someone to talk to when I get home from work. I have other times when I think living by myself is a wonderful thing! Being under the same roof with other people can get messy and frankly, downright difficult. Other people can test our patience and our desire to love.
That’s why I find it interesting that Jesus didn’t tell us to like one another. He told us to love one another. After He shared the greatest commandment in Matthew chapter 22, to “love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind,” He reminds us that the second commandment is to “love your neighbor as yourself.” In John chapter 13, Jesus gave the same commandment and gave us the reason to obey it. “As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
Have you been challenged to love the seemingly unlovable lately? The command is not optional. The Lord has set an example for us to follow. May He give us the grace to do that very thing.
