Morning Devotional:
How many times has this been you? You pull up to the gas pump, enter your credit or debit card, fumble your way through all of the push buttons and prompts, only to try and select your gas and pick the wrong grade of gas? I can’t tell you how many times I have tried to buy gas in the past month only to find myself attempting to put diesel fuel into my not-diesel fueled car. Do you know what stopped me every time? The diameter of the diesel fuel nozzles are bigger. They don’t fit in my gas tank – a clear indication that someone was thinking about me and people like me long before I ever needed to pull up to the pump.
Do you ever find yourself filling up your spiritual tanks with the wrong stuff? I know I have tried to satisfy my soul with things that would never truly work. Things like material wealth, power, success, you name it – there are a lot of things out there that we try and use to build up our spiritual tanks. They don’t work, though, and they never will. What is it that will truly satisfy us? It’s our relationship with the Lord.
We’re encouraged in Isaiah 55 to come to Him, eat what is good and delight ourselves in abundance. What kind of fuel are you running on today? You can go to Him and get your fill.
– Beth
