Morning Devotional:
Recently a friend of mine and I got together for a quick dinner. It was a much needed outing as the two of us were having difficult days. We were both feeling wiped out, beaten up and tired of the spiritual fight. Once we had the time to sit next to each other and share the burdens of the day, and to sit at the feet of the Lord and pray, we both felt a lot better about things. I left her company that night feeling recharged and that I believe was by design.
I love how God puts people in my path to help me through the daily battles. In fact, I believe that is part of His strategy. As it says in Ecclesiastes chapter four, “One may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.” The most vital part of a successful victory campaign is the next part of the verse: “A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” When the fight gets hard, we need to grab that friend and declare together that God is with us and that He is our strength. Sometimes it’s the whole regiment that needs to hear that.
