What Day is it?

The Burning Question:

What brings you the most Happiness today?

Morning Devotional:

It was a lot of work that felt worthless. We had to rip the carpet out of our basement living room and take all the furniture out because of recent flooding. Now, we had moved our furniture back in on the bare floor, but the carpet was scheduled to be put back in, and that meant we had a lot of work to do. Malachi and I moved the couches back out of the room, reassembled my little sound booth with its extremely heavy panels, and by the end, we were beat. It was a lot of work.

Then the next day… the carpet didn’t come. They had to reschedule for three weeks later. So, what did Malachi and I need to do? Move the furniture back into the room and set it all up again so we could at least use it. We felt a little deflated, especially since we knew we were going to have to do it all again when the carpet finally arrived.

Sometimes in life, we find ourselves in situations where our efforts seem to be in vain. We work hard, we put in the effort, and yet, the results are not what we hoped for. It can be frustrating and disheartening. But these moments remind us of an important spiritual truth.

In Galatians 6:9, the Apostle Paul encourages us: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” This verse reminds us that our efforts are not in vain when they are done for the Lord. Even when we don’t see immediate results, God is working behind the scenes, orchestrating things in His perfect timing.

Just like the carpeting situation, there are times when we have to wait and trust that God knows what He’s doing. Our patience and perseverance in these times are not wasted. God uses these moments to build our character, strengthen our faith, and prepare us for what’s to come.

So, the next time you find yourself feeling like your efforts are pointless, remember that God sees your hard work. Trust in His timing, and know that your persistence will eventually bring about a harvest of blessings.
