The Burning Question:
What is a place that you’ve visited you would never want to go back again?
Morning Devotional:
It is rare that I am up before dawn on a day off but this past weekend I was not only up, but I was outside. I was out walking my dog in the early morning hours when I took a break to look at the eastern sky and watch the sun rise. The sky was beautiful. Stunning, in fact, and I even thought to myself, the sky itself looks like hope. It was one of those sunrises that said, “Today is going to be a great day.”
It was also one of those days when I really needed that message, too. I had a couple of days before that when I was having a hard time getting out of bed, much less function. For God to give me that picture and the promise of a better day was a blessing.
There were some people in the Word who needed a moment like that one early morning and they got the best message of hope ever. A group of women made their way to a place of great sadness to find a stone rolled away, a very empty tomb, and a mysterious person with a message for them.
“The angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said.”
Now that’s a brand new day.
