Morning Devotional:
I got a text from a friend I hadn’t talked to in a while, an urgent request to share a post from her Facebook page. When I saw it, her request made perfect sense to me and I shared it right away. My friend’s cousin’s son was in a car accident and his little dog had run away from the scene of the crash.
Desperate to find the little pup, my friend was contacting everyone she knew to share a photo of the dog on Facebook and spread the word about the situation. I watched my Facebook feed closely for two days as friend after friend shared the same post, copying the same plea to be on the lookout for this young man’s canine friend.
On day three, I finally saw the update. The little lost dog was found safe and was on its way home! I was over the moon and I thanked the Lord for the answered prayer and for the help of the many Facebook friends who networked to get this little dog home.
I know how happy I was to see a young man and his “best friend” reunited, but my happiness pales in comparison to the joy that comes over those in heaven when a lost person comes to faith in Jesus Christ. As Jesus himself says in Luke 15:10, “I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior today, you’re not lost forever. When you receive Him, He is your way back home.
