The Burning Question:
What small act of kindness have you seen or done recently that gave you hope?
Morning Devotional:
I recently bought one of those smart watches, which is kind of funny because one, I’ve never been one to wear a watch and two, I’m not all that tech savvy. When I found out I could pair the watch with a medical device I wear and monitor it throughout the day, though, I was sold. I love my new watch and it has already been a huge help in my health journey.
There is one drawback, though. The Bluetooth “bond” between the two devices isn’t permanent. Every ten days, I have to follow a specific process for my watch and my medical device to recharge, reconnect, and function properly as one once again.
Just as I have been relying on the connection with my smartwatch to monitor my health, we need to be relying on our connection with the Lord to maintain a healthy spiritual life. Jesus tells us this in John 15:5 when He says, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” If we want to be sure we can function in this day and age, let’s make sure we’re not only connected to Him, but rooted and grounded in Him as well.
