The Burning Question:
What is the next thing on your to-do list?
Morning Devotional:
I read this article last night about what makes an employee a great employee. In it, this man talked about an office manager he once had who was the best employee he ever had work for him. She had his office running like clockwork, to the point where every Friday afternoon, she would restock the office with whatever it needed for the following week – to the point where she would refill each of the staplers in the office with staples, whether they needed it or not. Every week. I can’t even remember the last time I had to fill my stapler!
What sets this office manager apart from the rest of this man’s staff? Her dedication to preparation. She was always prepared for anything and could anticipate a need with pinpoint accuracy. As you can probably understand, any extra step we can take to be prepared usually pays off.
My devotional last night was in 2 Timothy 2 where it says, “In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.” As believers we are called to do good works for the Lord. They have been prepared by God in advance for us to do, and we need to be ready for them by making sure our sins are confessed and that we are cleansed by Him.
Are you ready to do the work He has prepared for you? Make sure you know Jesus, and make sure your heart is prepped for the work He is doing in you. Then you’ll be ready to take on whatever comes your way.
