The Burning Question:
What is your earliest childhood memory?
Morning Devotional:
So I lost my phone yesterday. The funny part was that I lost it in plain sight, something I tend to do from time to time. In order to find my phone, I had to call it, and I used my voice activated home speaker system to dial it.
I couldn’t hear my phone ringing because I always keep the ringer turned off but I hoped I could see it light up or hear it vibrate as I walked through the house. Sure enough, I found it in my bed. Later on in the evening, I looked at the call history only to find a number I didn’t recognize. I passed it off as just a wrong number but this morning, it dawned on me – the number that I didn’t recognize, the one that called me, was me! At least, it was my home speaker. Confused yet? I sure was.
We think communication is so easy nowadays. With all of the gadgets and gizmos at our disposal to get a hold of someone, you would think we would have a much easier time at passing on information. It’s complicated – but not so with God. Isaiah 65:24 is a favorite verse of mine – it says, “Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.” You don’t need a phone, a charger, a cable, an internet connection, or any of that stuff. You just need to open your heart to Him and start talking. He’s always listening.
