What Day Is It?

The Burning Question:

What is a useless talent you are secretly proud of?

Morning Devotional:

If you were to ask me ten years ago what I was praying for the most, I would have told you I was praying to see more of the glory of God. Ask me about that prayer today and I would say I am seeing that prayer come to pass – because God is showing me His goodness.

One of the most interesting stories in scripture is in Exodus 33 when Moses asks God to show him His glory. God answers Moses and says, “I Myself will make all My goodness pass before you, and will proclaim before you My name, ‘The Lord’”. In chapter 34, the Lord descended into the cloud on top of Mount Sinai, stood with Moses, and right there His goodness passes before Moses and God proclaimed His name. Moses wanted to see the glory of God, and God granted his request by showing Moses the best of His very nature, which God revealed as goodness.

It has taken me quite a long time to really see the goodness of God in my life. I am quick to see the bad, the trials, the not-so-great things and I often forget to count the blessings. We neglect to marvel at what God has done, and it shouldn’t be that way. God is so kind to show us the essence of who He is – a good Father who loves us. Let’s make sure we see that.
