The Burning Question:
It’s National Tell a Joke Day! What’s your best joke?
Morning Devotional:
I was doing some work here the other day, trying to complete a task I have done easily dozens of times before. It was a task that required me to save something on a website and when I went to do it, I kept getting a message from out of nowhere. The message? “Access denied.” That made no sense to me at all because what I was trying to do should have worked and had worked just the day before. Somehow, the powers that be in the little screen I was staring into were keeping me out.
I was glad all this happened before my lunch break because it gave me the opportunity to talk with the Lord and get some needed perspective. He reminded me that even though I may not always have access to certain things, I always have access to Him because of His son.
In Romans 5:1-2, the apostle Paul says, “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.” Because of Jesus and what He did on the cross for us, we have an all-access pass to the throne room of grace. If you’re struggling with something today, God says you can come to Him. If you know Jesus, His door is wide open!
