Sometimes, when all the world seems to be swirling in a mass of confusion, panic, and lies, the best of all possible responses is to draw near to the LORD and praise Him. Here are some selected passages intended for that purpose:
“And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed
them. But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful
things that he did, and the children crying out in the temple, “Hosanna
to the Son of David!” they were indignant, and they said to him, “Do you
hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes; have you
never read, “‘Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies you have
prepared praise’?” (Matthew 21:14-16 )
“And as he rode along, they spread their cloaks on the road. As he was
drawing near—already on the way down the Mount of Olives—the
whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a
loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, saying, “Blessed
is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and
glory in the highest!” And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to
him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” He answered, “I tell you, if these
were silent, the very stones would cry out.”(Luke 19:36-40 )
“And again, “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles and let all the peoples extol
him.” (Romans 15:11 )
“What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind
also; I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also.”
(1 Corinthians 14:15 )
“In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of
your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised
Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire
possession of it, to the praise of his glory.” (Ephesians 1:13-14 )
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is
just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if
there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about
these things.” (Philippians 4:8 )
“Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God,
that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.” (Hebrews 13:15 )
“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let
him sing praise.” (James 5:13 )
“In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have
been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your
faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—
may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of
Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 1:6-7 )
“And from the throne came a voice saying,
“Praise our God,
all you his servants,
you who fear him,
small and great.”
(Revelation 19:5 )
Amen brother! Praise Him, Praise Him, Praise Him!
