Burning Question:
It’s National Renewal Day! Tell me about a time you got a fresh start, what happened?

Beyond the Brochure
It Was Very, Very Intricate.
My son Malachi is heading to college next year. He has already picked out his school and his major, and it has been fun to watch him walk through that process.
But here is the strange part. We have not actually visited the campus yet.
What we do have is a card they sent him. When you open it, it folds out into a really intricate little model of the school. It is honestly impressive. Detailed, creative, even a little mesmerizing.
But as cool as it is, it is just not the same as being there.
You can look at it, admire it, and even get excited about it, but you do not really know the place until you step onto the campus, walk the sidewalks, and experience it for yourself.
It made me think about how easy it is to treat our faith the same way. We can learn about God, read about Him, and hear others talk about Him. All of that is good. But if it never moves beyond information, it is like staring at that little paper model.
It looks impressive, but it is not the same as experiencing Him.
Psalm 34 8 says, “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.”
God does not just invite us to study Him. He invites us to know Him. To walk with Him. To experience His presence in everyday life.
So maybe today is a good day to take a step beyond the model.
Do not just read about Him. Talk to Him.
Do not just hear about Him. Trust Him.
Because faith was never meant to stay on paper. It was meant to be lived.
