What Day is it?

Burning Question:

Burning Question: What is a luxury that you could never give up now that you have it?

Morning Devotional:

I’m a Bad Brother…

I got a phone call last Tuesday, and a very familiar voice opened with, “Hey… I’m a bad brother.”

It was my brother Shaun. He lives in Colorado, and he was calling to let me know he was in the Twin Cities, just two hours away, and had forgotten to tell me he was coming.

We laughed, caught up for a few minutes, and then said our goodbyes.

After I hung up, I told my wife what happened. She looked at me and said, “Why didn’t you just go see him? It’s not like we had anything going on tonight.”

And that’s when it hit me…

Turns out, I guess I’m a bad brother too.

It wasn’t that I didn’t care. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to see him. I just didn’t act on the opportunity when it was right in front of me.

And how often do we do that, not just with family, but with people God has placed in our lives? We think, I should call them… I should stop by… I should encourage them… but then we don’t.

Not because we don’t care, but because we don’t act.

Ephesians 5:16 says, “Make the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”

Opportunities to connect, to encourage, to love people well, they don’t last forever.
