What Day Is It?

Burning Question:

It’s National Kindergarten Day!  What do you remember from kindergarten?

Morning Devotional:

My dog Abbie achieved a new feat at the groomer yesterday afternoon. Apparently she was so relaxed during her grooming session that she fell asleep, right there on the table, while her groomer was shaving her coat. Abbie had surrendered so completely to the process that the groomer had to wake her up in order to turn her over and do her other side!

The image of my sleeping Abbie made me think of Psalm 131, where the psalmist talks about a child having a “quieted soul.” The child is quiet and content, resting as if it is with its mother. Shouldn’t that be the case between us and God?

We are being cared for by a God who never slumbers or sleeps, which means we can let our guard down. Know that you can truly rest in the care of your heavenly Father.
