What Day Is It?

Burning Question:

What happened while you were on a walk?

Morning Devotional:

I’m still trying to get the water stains out of my carpet after the flood in my house last week. I looked into renting a professional steamer, but with the deposit and the fine print of the contract and the 24-hour time limit, I thought, “Ugh, too much hassle.”

When it came to what was needed for Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, there was no hassle involved. Two disciples went into town to get a donkey with a simple message: ‘The Lord has need of it.’ And without a single question, the donkey’s owner handed them the reins.

I catch myself wanting security deposits from God sometimes. I need to know how He’s going to use my time or my money before I give it. But that donkey owner reminds us that when the Master asks something of us, we need to have a willing heart. I want to live like that. If He needs something from me, it’s His.
