Burning Question:
It’s National Science Appreciation Day! What is the best invention of all time?
Morning Devotional:
Yesterday afternoon I took my dog, Abbie, on a much-needed training exercise – otherwise known as a walk.
She loves to go for walks but she has developed a habit of turning our walks into sprints. Wherever she goes, she needs to get there fast – and I have been trying to get her to walk at a normal, much more manageable and leisurely pace.
Have you ever tried to run ahead of God? It’s never a good idea because God not only has a divine will, but He also has an eternal timetable. Just as the apostle Paul reminded Christians that in “the fullness of time” God sent His Son (Galatians 4:4) and “in due time Christ died for the ungodly” (Romans 5:6), so God has a schedule for everything in our lives as well. We certainly don’t want to lag behind God’s agenda, but it’s equally disastrous to run ahead of it. Let’s make sure we are in step with God’s timing.
