Burning Question:
What is something you are looking forward to right now?
Morning Devotional:
Yesterday I went to the clinic to see a new doctor and boy, did I feel like a broken record. At the check-in desk, the lab, the nurse’s station where I weighed in, and the desk where I made my future appointment, it was the same line: “Name and date of birth, please?” It’s a safety protocol, sure, but it makes you feel like just another file in a cabinet.
I find it interesting that the world needs constant proof of who we are. But with God, He doesn’t need any information from me in order to recognize me. In Isaiah chapter 43, the Lord says, “I have called you by name; you are mine.” In a world of “Name and date of birth, please,” it’s a relief to be fully known and deeply loved by God. We never have to show him our ID.
