What Day Is It?

Burning Question:

It’s National Simplify Your Life Day!  What did you do to simplify your life?

Morning Devotional:

There’s an old saying about “upsetting the apple cart,” and I think it really applies to what is happening in the world right now.

Between the unrest happening in Iran and the general “noise” in this world, it feels like nothing is staying put. But today, I am finding comfort knowing that Jesus was a Master at upsetting apple carts. He disrupted every “normal” thing to teach us that His Kingdom isn’t of this world. He shakes what is earthly so we can find the heavenly in it. It’s uncomfortable, sure, but it’s also a call for us to look up and look to Him for stable ground.

Psalm 16:8 is a word I am holding on to: “I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.” The news may change every hour, but God’s position at our right hand never does. If the world feels shaky, fix your eyes on the one who is immovable.
