What Day is it?

Burning Question:

When have you done the right thing even though it cost you something?

Morning Devotional:

Lately I have been feeling invisible. There are days when I show up, I do my best, and it seems like no one really notices. Or cares.

I don’t think I’m alone in that feeling, either. I was in a pretty low moment the other day when the Lord reminded me of someone who understood the feeling perfectly.

We read of Hagar’s story in the book of Genesis. Hagar’s life changed without her choosing. When she conceived a child, she became the target of Sarah’s hatred and resentment. Hagar was forced to run from the situation and in her lowest moment in the wilderness, she was met by the angel of the Lord — the first recorded appearance of the angel of the Lord in the Bible. Hagar would also be privileged to give God a name, too: the name El Roi, which means “the God who sees me.”

When we feel unseen, we can know we are not hidden to the Lord at all. God sees us, no matter where we are, and proves His love to us mightily.
