Morning Devotional:
I was staring in the mirror yesterday morning, looking at the crow’s feet around my eyes. I realized they are getting bigger.
Now I do what I can to prevent wrinkles. I stay out of the sun, I use moisturizer with sunscreen. I try to get enough rest and avoid stress in my life. But I can’t avoid getting older and the wrinkles are inevitable.
We work hard to hide our outer imperfections but only Jesus can take care of our sinfulness. Because of what He did on the cross, our sins aren’t just hidden – they are forgiven and removed. The apostle Paul even tells us in Ephesians chapter 5 that we will be presented to God “without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, holy and blameless.” Christ’s love and sacrifice perfects us. Nothing I can do on my own can do that.
