What Day Is It?

Burning Question:

What is one thing you would like a do-over on?

Morning Devotional:

My life was saved yesterday. At least, according to my dog.

Abbie spent the afternoon protecting me from evil intruders that tried to invade our home. Intruders like the scary snowplow clearing our street. There was the guy who shovels my sidewalk, and Bella, the neighbor dog who dares to walk in our yard when she’s out on her morning walk. Abbie was like a sentry at the living room window, barking and yelping to let me know that danger was approaching. In her mind, she was the only thing standing between me and disaster.

I often trade my peace for the same kind of anxiety as Abbie’s, barking at every “what-if” on the horizon. I forget that I can step away from the window. Psalm 121:7 promises, “The Lord will keep you from all harm, He will watch over your life.” Today, I’ll let God handle what’s happening around me while I rest in His care.
