Burning Question:
It’s Blue Monday, supposedly the most depressing day of the year. Who is someone you could encourage today? What would you say to them?
Morning Devotional:
I thought repainting the accent wall in my bathroom was going to be a quick weekend project. One coat and done. The first color I tried was a disaster. The second color was almost the right shade, but it wasn’t perfect. No matter how carefully I painted, the old color was still bleeding through.
My “finished” product reminded me a lot of God’s forgiveness.
When God forgives our sin, He doesn’t just cover things up. Psalm 103:12 says, “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.”
That means our sin isn’t hiding under a fresh coat. Our sin is gone. No streaks. No drips. No reminders. Through Jesus, God completely removes our guilt and gives us a clean start. That’s better than any paint job I could ever manage.
