What Day is it?

Burning Question:

How did you first hear of Operation Christmas Child?  How do you participate in it?

Morning Devotional:

Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to buy a new vehicle – one with all of the bells and whistles I could possibly want, and a couple I didn’t think I needed but now I really enjoy.

For instance, I didn’t think I needed the onscreen GPS feature. But now that I have it, I’m realizing that it’s pretty nifty. When I’m driving somewhere new, I’ll punch the address into my GPS app because I love watching the map on the dashboard screen and having that voice tell me, “Turn left here,” or “You’ve arrived.” It’s my go-to for directions.

But it has made me think: am I that quick to ask for God’s directions in my daily life?

The GPS is helpful, but it’s not perfect. If I type in the wrong address, it doesn’t know my heart’s intentions. It just takes me to the wrong place. It’s not very forgiving. God’s guidance, however, is so much better.

We have our own spiritual GPS in God’s Word. The Bible has everything we need to navigate life’s twists and turns. If we’re wondering where to go or what to do, the directions are right there. And Jesus himself gave us the ultimate destination. He didn’t just give us a map; He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”

I’ll trust that little voice on my phone to get me to the store. My goal is to listen even more closely to God’s voice, which promises to get me where I need to be every single time.
