What Day is it?

Burning Question:

It’s Social Media Day!  What was your very first post on social media?

Morning Devotional:

I was making dinner last night, trying a make-it-quick in a pressure cooker recipe so I could get to bed at a decent hour when I realized I had an audience.

There at my feet were two beady little brown eyes staring up at me. My puppy, Abbie, was very interested in what I was cooking and wanted a piece of the action. Or at least some of the canned chicken.

As I was throwing the ingredients into the pot, I felt the first nudge on my leg, and then a second followed by a third. I set the timer on the cooker to the repeated shove of paws on the backs of my legs and the next thing I knew, she was growling under her breath, demanding her portion of my meal. Not comprehending the concept of cooking time, she kept pushing me and begging, the low growls becoming loud whines. When the pressure cooker was finished, I dished up my meal – along with a very small spoonful of chicken. If I didn’t do that, I am certain I would never hear the end of it.

There’s a story in Luke chapter 18 about a very persistent widow who would not relent until she got justice. The judge presiding over her case said, “because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice.” What is the lesson here?  If an unrighteous judge will relent and give a persistent person what she needs, how much more will a good, faithful and loving God give the person who comes to Him in prayer and doesn’t give up?
