Burning Question:
What is an everyday thing you are a little bit afraid of?
Morning Devotional:
I was driving home yesterday when a deer walked out in front of my car.
I’m usually prepared to see deer on my way to work in the mornings, but this was in the middle of the day. It froze in front of my car with the classic “deer in the headlights” look. It ended up standing there for what seemed to be the longest time before it went back where it came from, overwhelmed by the moment.
There are times when I come to a point in the road where I am met with what feels like an oncoming car and I am smacked in the face with something overwhelming. I wonder which way I am supposed to turn and which direction I am supposed to go. That’s the moment when we need to pray and trust that the Lord will show us the next step to take.
Psalm 73:23-24 speaks into these moments very well: “Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.” I am thankful for a patient and understanding God who never leaves me on my own to decide my own way. He is faithful to point me in the right direction.
