What Day is it?

Burning Question:

What is the most memorable handshake you’ve ever had – and why did it stick with you?

Morning Devotional:

My puppy, Abbie, is apparently making a name for herself.

I realized this the other day when a neighbor of mine surprised me by stopping by my place just because she wanted to pet her.

I was happy to oblige because one, Abbie loves the attention; and two, our encounter was outside. I’m not one who normally enjoys unexpected houseguests. My house is usually a mess and having someone see all the clutter scattered around my home is rather embarrassing.

As we both loved on my Abbie, we chatted about the joy that pets bring. Before I knew it, the door was opened to a sweet conversation about our faith and the peace that comes from knowing the Lord. It made my day.

The moment also made me wonder, “What is it about us that draws people to the Jesus in us?” Is it our kindness, our willingness to listen, or the genuine joy we have in our lives? Honestly, I think it’s the way we live out our faith authentically, allowing God’s light to shine through us in everyday interactions. Matthew 5:16 reminds us, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” May we all be like Abbie, drawing people in with simple warmth, creating opportunities to share the greatest love of all.
