What Day is it?

Burning Question:

Has God ever used your job or hobby as a way to serve others for His glory?  Tell us about it!

Morning Devotional:

There is nothing quite like a good T-shirt.

I have several that I turn to on weekends. They are soft, comfy, perhaps a size too big for roomy comfort, and many sport an encouraging word.

I recently bought a T-shirt that has become a new favorite, and I forgot just how powerful the message on it was until I wore it out in public. Perfect strangers were passing me, nodding in agreement with the screen printed slogan.

What did my T-shirt say? “He is stronger than the storm.”

I was facing some storms that day, too – storms that seemed overwhelming.  In those quick moments of agreement I remembered God is not just a lifeguard on the shore. I recalled the powerful truth that God is so much stronger than any storm we face.

We see this in action In Matthew chapter 8, when Jesus’ disciples were facing some pretty rough waters. In their time of distress, He rebuked the winds and the waves with just a word and calmed the storm before their very eyes.

That same power and peace is available to us. When you feel overwhelmed, all you need to do is remember He is with you in the boat. He sees the storm, and He has the power to quiet it. We don’t have to be afraid because He is in control.
