Burning Question:
What comes to mind when you are thinking about what to get for Dad for Father’s Day?
Morning Devotional:
You know how sometimes life just surprises you in the best possible way? I had one of those moments recently. I came home from work the other day and noticed something new in my front yard—a beautiful, little shrub! Honestly, I was kind of shocked because I didn’t ask for a shrub and I certainly didn’t choose it. It should come as no surprise that I’m not a great gardener. I have a very brown thumb! I probably would have picked the wrong kind and then struggled to keep it alive. Yet, here it is – it looks very healthy, and I am going to pray it stays that way!
The unexpected planting got me thinking about how God works in our lives. We try so hard to cultivate spiritual growth, and sometimes it feels like we’re not making any progress. But then, we look back and surprise! We see God has been working behind the scenes, planting seeds and nurturing growth we didn’t even notice. It reminds me of Mark 4:27, where Jesus talks about the seed sprouting and growing, “though he does not know how.”
God is the ultimate gardener. He is always tending to our souls with perfect wisdom, surprising us with the beautiful changes He brings about. Isn’t it amazing how He can grow things in us that we never thought possible?
