Morning Devotional:

I received some shocking news over the weekend. A dear friend of mine was involved in a car crash last week. From the pictures I saw on his wife’s social media account, he is lucky to be alive. He sustained some pretty serious injuries and is going to have a long recovery ahead of him, but praise the Lord, he’s going to be fine and knowing him and his family, they’re definitely going to be using this for God’s glory one way or another.

The news of his accident gave me quite a bit of opportunity this weekend to ponder our future as believers, and the fact that we don’t know the number of our days here on this earth. We also don’t know the day of Jesus Christ’s return. No one does except the Father, according to Matthew 24. We’re in a season right now where we are both anticipating and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ but we know that’s already happened. Do we know the day He is coming back, and are we ready for that day?

My friend who was involved in the car crash placed his faith in Jesus Christ years ago so yes, he was ready. Last week wasn’t his time.  Are you ready for that day to come?  If Jesus is your Lord, yes, you are.
