Morning Devotional:
I could have stayed there all day long.
I went to the gym and went swimming yesterday and it was wonderful. Swimming is the only real exercise I can do right now – it’s the only exercise I really love, too for me to get in the warm water and move was so good on my body. I was pain free, I was having fun, and I was refreshed. I really needed it.
I love the water and as we know, water is good for our bodies. We need water to survive. I need water in the form of a long hot shower to wake me up in the morning and get ready for my day in the studio! If we don’t get enough water, we feel the effects.
It’s no surprise to me that the imagery of water is so prevalent in the Word. We read in Psalm 1 that those who delight in the Lord’s instruction are like trees planted by streams of water – they drink up His word. To a Samaritan woman drawing water at Jacob’s well, Jesus became her source of living water – water that won’t run dry. It didn’t for her and it won’t for us.
We don’t have to go through this life thirsty – not when there’s living water available. Ask Jesus for a drink. If you don’t know Him yet, ask Him into your life and trust me in this: He will fill you up.
