The Burning Question:
It’s the National Day of Prayer. What is your prayer today?
Morning Devotional:
I had the pleasure of going out for lunch with a co-worker yesterday at a restaurant I love but have not been to in a couple of years. When I walked in, I looked up at the menu board and noticed it had changed a lot. My favorite soup was still there but beyond that, the rest of the food choices were a mystery. I am not normally a quick person when it comes to making choices – I like to think things out, sometimes to my detriment – so it took me what seemed like forever to choose my meal. Thankfully, my choice was a great one. Lunch was a success.
When it comes to my spiritual life, I have made choices both good and bad. Our Father God, on the other hand, made the best one and Paul tells us about it in Ephesians 1:
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.”
We have been hand-picked by God to be his sons and daughters. To Him, that choice is a no-brainer.
