The Burning Question:
When did you find something valuable?
Morning Devotional:
It was around Valentine’s Day a few years ago when I was visiting some friends. They have a young daughter and she had just received a new set of rubber stamps. She was playing with them at the kitchen table – and when I mean playing with them, she was stamping papers in rapid succession like a grocer using a pricing gun.
While we were chatting in the living room, my friends’ daughter came in, grabbed her father’s hand, stamped it, said “I love you,” and ran off. To his surprise, the back of his hand was now adorned with a bright red heart. I later learned he didn’t wash it off. He proudly wore it on his hand the next day, to work and everything.
It can be easy at times to think that you are unloved, unlovable, or even forgotten by God. That’s the farthest thing from the truth. He tells us in Isaiah 49, “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.”
