Morning Devotional:
It was a sweet gesture in more ways than one.
Yesterday I had a bit of a hankering for something sweet so I went through the drive-thru of a fast food restaurant near my home to get an ice cream cone. When I drove up to the window to hand the clerk my money, she proceeded to tell me that I didn’t owe anything because the car in front of me had paid for my bill. I was pretty shocked by that, and I wish I knew who it was that did that for me so I could thank them. The cone was delicious!
That simple act of kindness made me think. It doesn’t have to be hard to be a light for Jesus Christ. We don’t need to have a perfect recollection of the right scripture for a certain situation or the words of the salvation prayer memorized and ready for use in a heartbeat. Being a light for Jesus Christ can mean something as simple as being a blessing to others. Hebrews 13:16 says, “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”
If God has blessed you, go ahead and be a blessing.
