Morning Devotional:
It felt like forever but it finally, finally happened.
I got home from work a lot later than I usually do and I was pretty spent, but I saw something in my yard that instantly perked me up. Right there, standing in the middle of a growing patch of grass, was my first robin of the season. I was elated! The return of the robins are a sure sign of spring and I don’t think I have ever been more excited to see the changing of a season than right now. I need the warmer weather, the ability to get outside and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air and all of that refreshing that comes after a long, dull winter.
We all have seasons in our lives that come and go. Some are good and some are not so great. Some are short and some take forever to pass. Some bring trials and some bring healing. No matter what season we may be in, God has a hand in them all and He uses every season to bring us closer to Him.
We are reminded in Ecclesiastes 3:1 that “to everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven.” The robin in my yard was a small sign of a changing season, but it was a big signal for me to praise Him in the moment, and you can be certain that’s exactly what I did.
