What’s the best thing about being the age you are right now?
Morning Devotional:
Have you ever heard the audible voice of God? I can’t confirm that I have but I have had times in my life when I wondered if I did.
One of those times was shortly before I came to know Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I was severely depressed and contemplating ending my life. I found myself outside one afternoon yelling at the sky asking whoever or whatever being that was “out to get me” to tell me why I was being so tormented and what exactly they wanted from me. Suddenly, in the middle of my ranting, the words “All I want is your heart” pierced through every fiber of my being. I still don’t know if I actually heard the words or just sensed them but it doesn’t matter. I know that statement came from God.
Those six words led me to receive Jesus Christ and because I listened, He has faithfully guided me for more than 30 years now. Our heavenly Father is a vocal God and while I can’t record His voice, He is speaking to us all the same. When He calls us to come to Him, do we answer? And are we listening for His voice today?
