A Better Birthday Than I Planned<\/b><\/p>\n

My son Obadiah recently turned 14, and one of my favorite traditions is taking each of my kids out for their birthday. Just the two of us. A chance to spend some time together and celebrate them.<\/span><\/p>\n

The day I was planning to take him out, a friend of mine called and asked if I wanted to go fishing.<\/span><\/p>\n

I knew Obadiah enjoys fishing, so I asked if he could come along too. My friend said yes, and what followed was a much better birthday experience than anything I had planned.<\/span><\/p>\n

Obadiah caught multiple fish. He got to ride in a boat, which he could barely remember ever doing before. He had an absolute blast.<\/span><\/p>\n

And it all happened because someone was willing to be generous.<\/span><\/p>\n

My friend probably thought he was just inviting us fishing. But to Obadiah, it became a birthday memory he’ll likely remember for years.<\/span><\/p>\n

It reminded me that we often do not realize the impact our kindness can have on others. What seems small to us can be a huge blessing to someone else.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hebrews 13:16<\/b> says, <\/span>\u201cDo not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

God uses ordinary acts of generosity in extraordinary ways. A simple invitation. A little of your time. Sharing what you have. These things can create joy and encouragement far beyond what you imagine.<\/span><\/p>\n
