\u00a0<\/span>The Secret Scholarship<\/b><\/p>\n

My son Malachi attended a senior breakfast during his last week of school. It was an awards banquet where scholarships and honors were announced. One by one, names were called, students walked to the front, pictures were taken, and everyone applauded.<\/span><\/p>\n

Malachi stood up when they recognized students who earned academic letters. But I knew something most people in that room did not know.<\/span><\/p>\n

He had received a really good scholarship.<\/span><\/p>\n

So I leaned over and asked him, \u201cWhen are they going to announce that?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He kind of smirked and quietly said, \u201cI never told them about it, so they won\u2019t.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

That surprised me.<\/span><\/p>\n

Because if I am being honest, as his dad, I wanted to shout it from the rooftop. I was proud of him. But he genuinely did not need the attention. He was content to let it stay quiet.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have to appreciate that kind of humility.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Bible says in <\/span>Philippians 2:3<\/b>, <\/span>\u201cDo nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Our world teaches us to promote ourselves, build our image, and make sure everyone notices our accomplishments. But biblical humility looks different. It is being secure enough in who God says you are that you do not need constant recognition from everyone else.<\/span><\/p>\n

That does not mean accomplishments are bad. It just means they are not where our worth comes from.<\/span><\/p>\n

So today, remember this. You do not have to announce every success to have value. God sees faithfulness even when nobody else does.<\/span><\/p>\n

And sometimes the quietest confidence says the most about a person\u2019s character.<\/span><\/p>\n
