It was one year ago that I adopted my dog, Abbie. Since that day I have learned a lot about stain removal, carpet cleaning, how to sew chewed up plush toys, and repairing wood trim. I have also learned a lot about giving and receiving unconditional love.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adopting Abbie required a specific process &#8211; a legal bridge of sorts that made her mine. In the same way, our entry into God&#8217;s family requires a specific bridge. Ephesians 1:5 tells us God &#8220;predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ.&#8221; Without Jesus, we are just strangers at the gate to God\u2019s house. With Jesus as our Savior and Lord, we become daughters and sons in the living room enjoying a special spot on the couch.
