It\u2019s National Old Stuff Day!\u00a0 What is the oldest thing you own?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/b>I Am the Slowest Swimmer<\/b><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been trying to exercise more lately. Most forms of exercise just hurt\u2014so I\u2019ve landed on the one that hurts the least: lap swimming.<\/span><\/p>\n

And honestly? I love it.<\/span><\/p>\n

What I don\u2019t love is the lane next to me.<\/span><\/p>\n

Every time I swim, there\u2019s someone beside me who is faster. Smoother. Stronger. They flip turn like Olympians. I\u2019m just looping along at what I would describe as \u201cdetermined sea turtle\u201d speed.<\/span><\/p>\n

And if I\u2019m honest, there\u2019s this voice in my head that wonders what they think of me.<\/span><\/p>\n

But here\u2019s the truth: I\u2019m doing a good thing. I\u2019m moving. I\u2019m growing. I showed up. And comparison is stealing joy from something that\u2019s good.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Bible says in <\/span>Galatians 6:4<\/b>, <\/span>\u201cEach one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

God didn\u2019t call me to swim their race. He called me to be faithful in mine.<\/span><\/p>\n

The same is true in life. There will always be someone faster. More talented. Further along. But faithfulness isn\u2019t about speed, it\u2019s about obedience. It\u2019s about showing up and doing what God has called <\/span>you<\/span><\/i> to do.<\/span><\/p>\n

So if you feel like the slowest swimmer in the pool right now, keep going.<\/span><\/p>\n

You\u2019re not racing the person in the next lane.<\/span><\/p>\n

You\u2019re just called to keep swimming.<\/span><\/p>\n
