She pounds her paws on my leg, whines like a baby Chewbacca, and locks her sad brown eyes onto mine. She doesn\u2019t care if I\u2019m busy or distracted\u2014she wants a taste of my food and she won\u2019t stop until she gets some.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This dog is very much an example of the persistent widow in Luke 18. Jesus told us that the widow\u2019s persistence was to be a model for our faith. He invites us into a persistent prayer relationship where we go to Him with our needs and keep coming back to place our requests in His lap. Just as I relent and give Abbie a bite of my dinner, God will answer your requests as well. I did it for Abbie because of love, and so will God. It\u2019s not &#8220;annoying&#8221; God into helping us, either.
