I was one of the many who braved the mall last Friday and as I did, I found myself curious by the length of the “Returns and Exchanges” lines in the stores. So many people were trading in gifts that weren’t quite right – items that were the wrong size, a duplicate, or just not their style. I was struck by how we can put so much effort into finding a Christmas gift for someone only for it to be sent back the very next day.<\/span><\/p>\n

And yet I had this deep sense of peace because the gift of Jesus Christ is never a disappointment. While the world spends so much time trying to find what is better, we celebrate the fact that in Jesus, we have already received everything we will ever need. He is the right gift for all of eternity. I think the apostle Paul said it best in 2 Corinthians 9:15: “Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
