I really love shoofly pie. I only get it when I go out east for Thanksgiving to visit the Freeds so this year it was a special treat.<\/p>\n
At first, I was worried because it wasn\u2019t out on the Thanksgiving spread, but my Aunt Mim had saved it and put it out for breakfast the next day. Smart move, because you never know how fast it will go!<\/p>\n
I grabbed a piece but then remembered that my daughter, Glory, also loves shoofly pie and would be disappointed if it was gone. So, I gently cut and stored a piece for her in the fridge. When she got a piece, she said she didn\u2019t want another one. My selfless act ended up blessing only me\u2026 and, well, I ate it anyway!<\/p>\n
It made me think about God\u2019s blessings and how often we receive more than we expect. Scripture reminds us in Acts 20:35, \u201cIt is more blessed to give than to receive.”<\/p>\n
Even in the small things, like saving a piece of pie, we get a glimpse of God\u2019s generosity. This Christmas season, we\u2019re reminded that God gave His greatest gift, His Son, to bless the world. Just like that pie, some blessings may feel like they are meant for someone else, but they often bless us too.<\/p>\n
As we celebrate Christmas, may we share Christ with others through our time, our love, and our generosity. And may we remember that every act of giving \u2013 big or small \u2013 is a way to reflect God\u2019s heart to the world.<\/p>\n
