It\u2019s Cyber Monday.\u00a0 When did an online purchase go really Wrong?<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s a strange season at our house with my oldest son, Malachi. It\u2019s college admission season. He\u2019s a bright kid, strong test scores, and the colleges have noticed. Every day the mailbox is full of brochures, letters, and promises from schools trying to win him over. And I can see it wearing on him\u2014because it\u2019s a lot. A lot to process, a lot to pray about, and a lot to decide.<\/span><\/p>\n

College isn\u2019t for everyone, but it\u2019s probably in his future. He\u2019s applied for some excellent scholarships, and today is the day he hears back from a few of them. Through all of it, I\u2019ve been impressed\u2014not just with his drive or his work ethic\u2014but with the way he has genuinely placed it in God\u2019s hands.<\/span><\/p>\n

It reminds me of Proverbs 3:5\u20136:<\/b>
\n<\/span>\u201cTrust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

As a parent, it\u2019s easy to want to jump in and steer, to control the outcome, to cushion the landing. But this season has reminded me that our kids ultimately walk their own path with the Lord. Our job is to raise them, guide them, pray over them, and then\u2014little by little\u2014release them.<\/span><\/p>\n

Malachi may be getting ready to leave, but he\u2019s not walking alone. And neither are we. The same God who has guided him this far is the God who will guide him into the future. And the same God who steadies him will steady our hearts, too, as we watch our children take their next steps.<\/span><\/p>\n

May we all have the courage to trust God with what we treasure most.<\/span><\/p>\n
