What’s a basic skill that still shocks you when adults don’t know how to do it?<\/p>\n

A friend of mine told me yesterday that she and her husband are looking to move. This excited me to no end because as I told her, this gives me the best excuse to be online looking at house listings! I took a couple of architecture classes in school, and there are days when I would dream of what I might do with a home, given the time, resources and an empty palette in which to work.<\/span><\/p>\n

My dream house has been a dream for most of my life. I\u2019ve considered how many bedrooms and bathrooms it would have, what kind of pool it would have in the back – you know, all of those kinds of things. It would never compare to the home I know I will be living in someday. That\u2019s the home I will have with my heavenly Father.<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s easy to get caught up in the details of a house, isn’t it? But all those plans are for something that will eventually fade or need repairs.<\/span><\/p>\n

The home I’m <\/span>really<\/span><\/i> waiting for is being prepared by the master architect Himself. When Jesus was comforting his friends, He gave them this incredible promise. He said:<\/span><\/p>\n

“My Father\u2019s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” (John 14:2-3)<\/span><\/p>\n

I just love that. It\u2019s not a house I have to design, earn, or build. It\u2019s a place <\/span>prepared<\/span><\/i> for me.<\/span><\/p>\n

And the best part isn’t the architecture or the “curb appeal”; it’s the fact that He’s preparing it so that <\/span>we can be where He is<\/span><\/i>. My earthly dream house is all about comfort, but my heavenly home is all about relationship. That’s a “move” I can really look forward to.<\/span><\/p>\n
